Fort Berthold Shop Office

Date Completed
State
North Dakota

Challenge

The Fort Berthold Rural Water (FBRW) was reaching the end of its available federal funding and needed to identify how much additional funding it would take to complete their reservation-wide rural water system. One of the FBRW system's needs is a new shop office structure.

Solution

Bartlett & West developed a Master Plan that provided detailed cost estimates for both construction and operation and maintenance (O&M) for the water system, which the Tribe will use to seek additional funds from the Federal Government. The Master Plan identified the work completed to date, the work remaining to serve the existing population and the expansion of the system needed to meet the water needs in the year 2050.

Value

A new shop office structure was designed so Fort Berthold can continue to provide its services. The Master Plan also identified the current level of O&M costs along with projections of the long-term O&M funding needs so that costs can be covered as the system expands.
