Challenge

Bartlett & West was asked to analyze the existing site conditions and then propose a design that would address not only the needs of Turtle River State Park’s (TRSP) various staff, but also site grading, site utilities and erosion control.

Solution

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) Turtle River Multipurpose Building is a 5,700-square-foot structure that is comprised of two floors of residential apartments and amenities, office space and shop space that accommodate the needs of both TRSP's maintenance crew and seasonal staff. ADA requirements were complied with for the residential portion of the building as well as the shop space. After the completion of design development and documentation, bidding services were provided to NDPRD as well.

Value

The multipurpose building allows the TRSP maintenance crew and seasonal staff easier access to areas of the park that require service throughout the year and storage space for equipment that is utilized by the TRSP staff members.
